It's back to work for Lions on opening day of NFL training camp

The Detroit Lions are officially back on the field with Monday's opening of training camp.

The team is trying to build off an 11-win season with a playoff appearance. In the meantime, Lions President Tom Lewand joined Dan Miller to talk about team goals.

"They've shown up in great shape and we're thrilled to have them back," Lewand said.

Coach Jim Caldwell also joined Dan Miller to talk about the progress some of the players have made in the off-season. One of the topics is defensive end Ziggy Ansah and whether he is ready to take the next step.

FOX 2 is the official television partner of the Detroit Lions carrying all four preseason games in addition to the regular season slate.

August 13 is the Lions' first preseason game against the New York Jets.
