DETROIT (WJBK) - Witnesses say a teen was abducted and tossed in the trunk of a car on the west side of Detroit.
Police and family members are scouring the neighborhood now, looking for an older model Impala or Malibu that missing Jaylon Wilson was last seen in.
"Something like this happens, what are we supposed to do," said one witness. "Panic."
The kidnapping happened at 12:30 in the afternoon on Westwood Street near W. Warren. Witnesses watched 17-year-old Jaylon Wilson grabbed by the wrists and ankles by a couple of men and hoist him into the car's trunk, then sped off.
One man is described having dreadlocks. A third man stayed inside the car, with a woman wearing a bandana who was driving. The car was last seen westbound on Sawyer going toward Evergreen.
"Homeowners called and indicated they witnessed this happen," said Capt. Ken Balinski, Detroit police.
Many homeowners who were too scared to go on camera say they don't know where the teen came from, or where he was running to, when he was picked up from the end of a driveway.
"To speculate on whether it was drug related or any other crime relation, we don't know that at this point," Balinski said.
Detroit police is asking for tips, saying Jaylon's family is too distraught to talk.
"They want him back," Balinski said. "And I'm sure if they were standing next to me now they would want the public to help them find their son."
A neighbor who knows Jaylon says he saw his mother out knocking for doors after he disappeared, pleading with anyone for information.
One resident, Delane, said he knows the kidnapped teen
"He's never done anything to anyone," said Delane, who knows Wilson. "He has fun with the other kids, stuff like that.
"I wish and pray that he do come home, he's in good health, he's safe."
The captain FOX 2 spoke with said that every second counts, and they need anyone who has any information on this to give them a call. If you know anything please call the Sixth Precinct at (313) 596-5604 or Crime Stoppers.
