Kresge Foundation invests millions into Detroit

Detroit is getting better by the day, but the city's dramatic comeback isn't cheap.

The Kresge Foundation investing millions to help the Motor City move forward.

Rip Rapson, the president of the foundation, is making $2.2 million of grant money available to neighborhood organizations throughout Detroit in 2016 to revitalize neighborhoods.

A series of grants are available to organizations to help solidify them and help them take on new projects, like the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy and Eastern Market.

Rapson said a second category of grants  that direct national resources that have not worked in Detroit before like the Trust for Public Land.
