Lake grouch councilman apologizes but won't resign

Councilman Ed Sienkewwicz was in hot water after Rob Wolchek put him in the Hall of Shame when he caught Ed blocking access to the cool waters of the lake he lived on. Now, Ed's neighbors and fellow council members are trying to reel the big fish in.

In September, Wolchek went on a little fishing trip and caught Ed on undercover camera acting like a lake grouch. His neighbors say Ed was using his clout as a councilman to chase them off the public property that gave them access to the lake.

Now, Ed's headline news in Wolverine Lake and his fellow council members want him to resign. Ed refuses.

Since he wouldn't resign, the council and residents demanded an apology. Here's his apology:

"It was never my intention to represent myself as the voice of the whole council. I am sorry it was depicted that way."

The council found that Ed violated the state ethics code when he represented his personal opinions as that of the village council, and also that he used village property for personal gain or benefit and that he was guilty of misconduct in office.
