Lions open season home against Jets on Monday Night Football: report

The Lions are reportedly set to open the regular season on Monday Night Football by hosting the Jets right here in Detroit.

According to the New York Post, the Lions are set to take on the New York Jets on Sept. 10 at Ford Field. The full schedule is expected to be released tonight at 8 p.m.

During the regular season, the Lions will face their usual NFC North opponents, the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers, both home and away. This year they'll also host the New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, Carolina Panthers and New York Jets.

Last week, the team announced their 2018 preseason schedule starting in Oakland taking on the Raiders from Aug. 9-12, then welcoming the New York Giants from Aug. 16-19. Week three they head to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers on Aug. 24, and conclude preseason at home against the Cleveland Browns from Aug. 30-31.
