Man abducted and sexually assaulted, robbed at gunpoint in Detroit

Detroit police say a suspect forced a man at gunpoint into a vehicle, then sexually assaulted and robbed him.

The incident happened just before 4 am Friday when a man was walking from Nine Mile and Gratiot and stopped at a Dunkin' Donuts.

That's when police say the suspect who was sitting in a gray Nissan Altima called the victim over and pointed a gun at him and told him to get inside.

The victim told investigators he was driven to another location where he was allegedly sexually assaulted and robbed of his cellphone, money and keys.

Police say they are looking for a black man in his 30s, weighing 225 pounds, standing 6 feet tall with a beard and mustache.

Resident Art Jackson says there is too much crime in the area.

"Several months ago I was robbed over this way and couple of months ago I saw someone shooting at someone because their purse had been snatched."

Concerned citizens say an increase in police is not always the answer to fighting crime.

"It isn't all about police," Jackson said. "It's about people choosing and making the right decisions."
