Man barricades self in ex-girlfriend's home to keep her from court hearing over their last dispute

A fight between an ex-boyfriend and girlfriend turns into a barricaded situation on Detroit's east side.

Early Thursday morning, the 35-year-old man entered his ex's house on Lantz Street.

She ran out but left her gun behind.

They're both due in court Friday on a previous case where he is accused of assaulting her.

This morning he threatened her by trying to prevent her from going to court.

When police arrived, the man pointed a gun at them, but police eventually were able to calm him down and arrest him.

The man fired two shots inside the house but not at anyone in particular.

Police say the man suffered injuries to his hands when he punched out windows in an angry outburst.
