UPDATE: All four suspects were arrested in the stabbing incident by Tuesday evening, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

Original story below:

Authorities are investigating after they say a man was stabbed with a screwdriver when he confronted the suspects trying to break into his car.

It happened early Tuesday morning in the 100 block of Lyndon Circle in the Woodlands Mobile Home Estates in Oakland Township, which is near the intersection of Romeo and Rochester roads. The homeowner was leaving his house around 4:30 when he saw two men and two women inside his vehicle.

The sheriff's office says the homeowner confronted them and a fight broke out, and one of the suspects stabbed the homeowner approximately 12 times in the stomach and back with a screwdriver. The suspects drove away in a grey Pontiac Grand Am or Grand Prix.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment. His injuries are not life threatening.

"I heard what sounded like a teenage girl screaming and then I heard squealing of tires probably going around the corner, and then I heard the police sirens," says neighbor Vicky Matherly.

"It's scary because I've lived here for 40 years and this is, technically, the first real thing that something like this has ever happened," says neighbor Tina Graham.

Neighbors tell FOX 2's Maurielle Lue there have been quite a few vehicle break-ins in the last few months or so in the neighborhood.

Authorities have not given a description of the suspects, except that the group is said to consist of a white male a female, and a black male and female.
