Man flees suspected meth lab explosion in Shelby Twp
SHELBY TWP., Mich. (WJBK) - A man fleeing a suspected meth house explosion was found at Planet Fitness in Shelby Township.
The man, who had burns across his body, was detained at the gym, at 23 Mile Road and Van Dyke at 3:41 Friday. He was then transported to an area hospital, according to police.
Shelby Township police and fire responded to the house explosion in the 8000 block of Wiloray and Van Dyke.
According to police, the investigation linked the explosion to a possible meth lab at a residence. The man was seen fleeing the home at the time of the explosion.
Residents are being asked by police to avoid the area at this time.
