Man killed, his brother shot at in separate incidents

- A 21-year-old man is shot and killed in front of his home and according to sources, he wasn't the only member of his family targeted.

"I'm just hurt, I'm really hurt," said Jason Bernard Davis.

Family members are mourning the loss of 21-year-old Jazzy Dudley who was shot and killed in front of his home on Burt Road early Thursday morning.

"There is no reason for this," said Jason Bernard Davis, the victim's brother. "He was a good kid. I'm hurt about this. He wasn't involved in no crimes or anything."

The shooting happened at about 2:30 a.m. as Dudley was walking home from the Valero gas station on Joy and Trinity, where police say he went to buy a phone charger.

He was just about to turn into his house when police say between four to six shots were fired from between two houses. Sources say the victim was shot in the head and died.

"We don't know what the motive is at this point in time," said Capt. Mark Thornton, Detroit police. "Just based on the preliminary, someone hiding behind the house, and opening fire. No one else heard any argument or any struggle, it's very difficult for us to say whether this was a robbery."

Detroit police are now releasing even more suspicious information, telling fox 2, only a half hour after the shooting,  one of Dudley's brothers was shot at, only a mile away from the scene at the gas station on Patton and Plymouth.

Family members say a bullet grazed his T-shirt, but he wasn't hit. Only a few hours after that, neighbors tell FOX 2, Dudley's house was broken into, something Detroit police cannot confirm at this time.

"He wasn't a threat to anybody," Davis said. "He was little he only weighed like 120 pounds. Somebody needs to come speak up, we need to find them and get these guys caught."
