Man shot during basketball game on southwest side of Detroit

A basketball game erupts into gunfire leaving one man seriously injured.

A 20-year-old man was shot in the stomach during a game at 30th and Herbert on the southwest side of Detroit at 7:30 Monday night.

A group of men were playing basketball, an argument began when police say the suspect pulled out a gun from a vehicle. He then started firing shots.

The suspect fled in a light blue minivan. He is a black male in his 20s described as short, dark-skinned, wearing a blue hat and white short sleeve shirt and black shorts.

The victim is in surgery and there is no word on his condition or if he was the intended target.
