Man shot in the face at wedding reception in Macomb Twp.

Bullets fly at a wedding reception where a young man was shot in the face Sunday evening.

The incident happened just outside a Macomb Township banquet hall, Tina's Country House. Now the search is on for the shooter while police search for answers.

Two wedding receptions held at Tina's Country House in Macomb Township were interrupted by gun fire Sunday evening

"They said he shot himself then another guy said somebody shot him," said Mike Venrucinque, who attended the reception. "I think they were shooting at each other. There was a car with a window blown out."

Police say the victim, a 20-year old man from Detroit, was a guest at one of the receptions. He was standing outside in the parking lot of Tina's Country House when investigators say he was shot in his jaw.

"Nobody saw the shooting, not even the victim," said Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham. "That's what he's telling us."

"We're trying to find out what's the truth, what's a lie, and then identify what happened."

Moments after the shooting, the victim arrived at a nearby gas station for help. On security camera footage you see a man get out of the sport utility vehicle, then he starts waving to a first responder at a gas pump.

"He was standing in and around area where he was shot with other individuals," Wickersham said. "So now the investigator's goal is to identify the other individuals and find out what they saw or if they're involved."

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Back at Tina's Country House those attending the receptions were now dealing with police

"They were checking people as they left," Venrucinque said. "So we had a hard time leaving."
