Man teams with Rockwood barbershop to give free haircuts to veterans

Businessman Jim Betz never enlisted in the military but believes his duty is to serve those who are serving or have served their country.

"I've cared about veterans for years, I've been doing it for years paying for a few things when I see a veteran," Betz said.

Four years ago Jim decided to take a different approach so he could serve a larger number of retired or current members of the military.

He teamed up with a Rockwood barbershop so when anyone who is serving or has served their country comes into All the Buzz Cuts for Men, they will get a free hair cut the week of Veterans Day. All Compliments of Jim who also includes the tip money when he pays for the cut.

"The idea come to me this is one way I can pay it forward give back for protecting our freedoms," he said.

And Jim says he's not worried about the cost. This year he decided to include retired and current first responders - believing they need to be recognized also.

This year's event is planned for November 13th through the 17th but Jim says he  has decided to expand it

"We're going to add the 20th and 21st to the dates if anyone can't make it next week," he said.

Jim has received thank you notes from those who have received a free haircut and he hopes his thank you will inspire others to do something special for those who serve their community and country.
