Man to face trial for attack on EMTs, teen's 2006 murder

DETROIT (AP) -- A man arrested in a box cutter attack on two Detroit emergency medical technicians has been ordered to trial in two cases, including the 2006 murder of a teenager.
A judge on Monday heard enough evidence against Michael Montgomery to send him to trial. EMT Kelly Adams testified that she was punched and cut in the face as she tried to fight him off with a stool.
Adams and EMT Alfredo Rojas were attacked while trying to help Montgomery's friend on a city street in October. Montgomery is charged with attempted murder.
Coincidentally, police were looking for him after DNA linked him to the sexual assault and murder of a 16-year-old girl nearly 10 years ago.
Defense attorney Wyatt Harris says there's not enough evidence against Montgomery in that case.
