Masked man wanted for murder of 29-year-old woman in Detroit

A young Detroit mother was shot and killed last month after a masked man opened fire on the 29-year-old and her friends.

It's been almost two weeks since Kendra Simpson was caught in the crossfire and shot four times while trying to get away from a masked man.

Detroit police say three friends picked up Simpson from her job around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22. They made a quick stop at one of their apartments at Chalmers and Elmdale so a friend could get his ID.

He came back yelling and saying they need to leave. That's when a masked man with a long gun got out of a car and started shooting before they could get away.

Kendra was hit four times by the gunfire and later died at the hospital.

Her two friends, a 19-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were also shot but survived.

Now, Simpson's family is making a plea for someone to speak up.

The description of the suspect is very vague but police said two suspects drove off in a black Ford Crown Victoria, both with their faces covered.
