Melania Trump, Betsy Devos visiting middle school in West Bloomfield

First Lady Melania Trump and Secretary of Education Betsy Devos are visiting a middle school in metro Detroit Monday.

This visit to Orchard Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield kicks off the "Week of Inclusion" as part of National Bullying Prevention Month. Both leaders will participate in lessons regarding kindness, inclusion and respecting others, as well as visit the Viking Huddle Class, a 6th grade class that centers around social emotional learning.

The First Lady will visit kids in the cafeteria to talk to them about "No One Eats Alone," which is an effort to reduce social isolation and encourages students to ensure no one eats lunch alone.

"As part of my ongoing commitment to the overall well-being of children, I am looking forward to today's visit," Mrs. Trump said in a release. "By our own example, we must teach children to be good stewards of the world they will inherit.  We need to remember that they are always watching and listening.  It is our responsibility to take the lead in teaching children the values of empathy and communication that are at the core of kindness, mindfulness, integrity, and leadership."
