Michigan high school student robbed at gunpoint on way to school

A high school student in Wyoming, Michigan, was robbed Tuesday morning as he was walking to school, police said.

Wyoming Police told FOX 17 in Grand Rapids that the teenager was walking to school a little before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday when he was approached and robbed across the street from Lee High School.

The Lee High School student was not hurt but was shaken up. 

The victim told police the suspect was a white man in his early 20s. 

Police have a heightened presence at the Godfrey-Lee schools this morning as a result of the robbery, FOX 17 reports.
