Have you stepped outside today? It's cold. It's been cold since early December and it will stay cold until at least April. But how miserable is it in Michigan in the winter? According to one website, it's the second-most miserable winter in the country.

Thrillist ranked the 50 states on how miserable the winter is. The least miserable are probably obvious: Hawaii, Arizona, California, Colorado, and Florida probably don't surprise anyone. Colorado - ok, maybe that's odd, but they have mountains, beer, and the Denver Broncos.

So - as for the top five worst winters? They are Maine, North Dakota, Alaska, Michigan, and then Minnesota.

That's right - Alaska has a better winter than Michigan, according to Thrillist. Here's what they wrote about winter in the Mitten:

It was written by the Deputy Editor of Thrillist, Bison Messink. He calls himself a "recovering Michigander" in his tagline.
