Macomb College Police and Hamtramck Police are asking for the public's help finding a missing 20-year-old student who lives in Hamtramck.
Mossa Salleh Almasmari was last seen at approximately 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, on Macomb Community College's South Campus in Warren. His silver 2009 Hyundai Elantra was found parked in a college parking lot.
Almasmari is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs about 125 pounds and was wearing a grey coat, blue plaid shirt, khaki pants, black Air Jordan shoes and was carrying a black Nike Air backpack.
Classmates are coming together in hopes of tracking him down in a show of unity as family and friends of missing college student Mossa Salleh Almasmari marched on the campus of Macomb Community College Tuesday.
"It's bad, bad, seven days," said Salleh Almasmari, Mossa's father said. "I'm not sleeping.
"Something happening to him that's what I'm thinking. He would never leave me like that."
Mossa's father is from Yemen but says his son was born in the US and they now call Hamtramck home
As family and friends gather to shed light on Mossa's disappearance, they hope social media will help spread the word.
"We are asking people to continue awareness campaign using the hashtag #FindMossa," said attorney Fatina Abdrabboh of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee Michigan regional office. "Please use social media to find Mossa."
A moment of reflection was held during Tuesday's event in hopes that Mossa is returned to his family alive and well
As the pain of waiting continues, Mossa's father says if his son can hear his voice he wants he wants him to know: "I love him."
"All the time I pray I ask God show me my son," said Almasmari.
Anyone who has seen him or may have information about his whereabouts is urged to contact either the Macomb College Police at (586) 445-7135 or the Hamtramck Police at (313) 876-7803.
