Man arrested for allegedly strangling girlfriend to death in Mt. Clemens

A man has been arrested for allegedly strangling his 47-year-old girlfriend to death in Mt. Clemens.

Macomb County Sheriff's deputies say they responded to a call of a woman not breathing around 1 a.m. on Aug. 16 to a home near N. Wilson Boulevard and Cass Avenue. Deputies found the woman dead in the bedroom and discovered the caller was her boyfriend.

The woman was identified as Diana Wilson and her death was ruled a homicide by strangulation. The boyfriend was arrested and taken into custody for murder, according to deputies.

Officials say the couple had been a serious relationship for about a year and lived together in Mt. Clemens, having recently moved there within the last two weeks from Pennsylvania. 

Another man who lived in the home was cleared as a suspect. 

The man is expected to be arraigned Friday in 41-A District Court of Clinton Township.The investigation is ongoing.
