Neighbor dispute in Warren leads to shooting, arrest

Police are investigating after a dispute between neighbors ended with gunfire in Warren Monday morning. One person was injured, and the neighbor has been taken into custody.

The shooting happened just before 6 a.m. in the 7200 block of Yacht Avenue, which is near 8 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue.

Police say the dispute was between two neighbors who live across the street from each other. We're told one of the neighbors took a gun and fired at least one shot.

The victim is in the hospital right now in temporary serious condition.

A neighbor tells FOX 2 the suspect fired more than once but police have not confirmed that. We're also told the shooting was the result of a love triangle, and that the former boyfriend shot at the new boyfriend.

Police haven't confirmed the information about what caused the dispute, but say the suspect is in custody at this time and the street is safe for everyone else who lives there.

Neighbors tell us they've never had a shooting on this street before.

This is a developing story. Stay with FOX 2 for updates.
