Neighborhoods on alert after multiple child luring attempts

Some neighborhoods in Washtenaw and Livingston counties are on alert after multiple child luring attemps have been reported to police.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office says three separate incidents have occurred since Saturday, August 26.

The Washtenaw County incident occurred in the area of Orchard Street and Portage Lake Avenue in Dexter Township on the evening of August 27, 2017, at approximately 9:00 p.m. A 9-year-old was riding his bike when the driver of a white cargo-style van exited the vehicle and told the child to get into the van.

At this time, a second individual exited the van from the front passenger door but did not make any statements to the child. The child rode away on his bike and immediately told his mom what happened.

In all three incidents, the suspects targeted white male children between the ages of 4 to 12 years of age.

The driver of the suspect vehicle is described as a white male, approximately 20 years old, no facial hair, thin build, black sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, and unknown color of hair.

No physical description available of the suspect in the passenger seat.
