Niece calls 911 after aunt's boyfriend shoots them, killing her aunt: police

- Likely one of the toughest phone calls she's ever made, a woman called police, while she was bleeding, to tell them she and her aunt had been shot. The person she said did it is her aunt's boyfriend.

That 22-year-old woman was critically injured, shot in the head. Her aunt was killed in the shooting.

Police are looking for the aunt's boyfriend right now, 28-year-old Lenell Kirby. He's considered armed and dangerous.

Police say he's accused of shooting his 28-year-old girlfriend in the right eye, killing her.

"I think it's terrible, that it gets that bad to where you think you have to hurt someone to actually get through to them. No one should ever make you that mad, to where you have to hurt them," says Janeeya Williams, a neighbor.

The remnants of a horrific and troubling domestic crime linger for neighbors, who haven't seen something like this over here. As of Sunday afternoon, the niece was still listed in critical condition.

"I did hear the gunshots, that's all I heard. I heard them arguing and then I heard gunshots," says Dvondre Reid, a neighbor.

Detroit Police say the shooting happened around 3:15 in the morning. Neighbors say they heard arguing at the home in the 18000 block of Grandville, near 7 Mile Road.

Detroit Police are hoping if Kirby is watching that he turns himself in. If you know anything about this crime or know where Kirby is, you're asked to call Detroit Police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP, where you'll remain anonymous.
