Oakland University students go on peanut butter and jelly making spree

One hour. 2,500 sandwiches. 150 students.

If that challenge seems a bit odd, that's okay - it may be - it's all for a good cause.

Nobody makes peanut butter and jelly sandwiches like mom did, right? Well, 150 students at Oakland University didn't have mom there, they were on their own in the race against the clock.

The peanut butter and jelly race was staged from noon to 1 on Monday, with the goal of helping to feed Detroit's residents most in need. Students like Tudor Moldovan decided to sacrifice his lunch break to make sure someone else could eat.

"I decided on my lunch break I'd come up here and make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches because some don't always get to have lunch. I figured it would be a good way to provide for them," Muldovan said.
