Ilitch, Gores team up for new entertainment group, 313 Presents

We all know the Red Wings and Pistons now share a home at Little Caesars Arena -- and now Olympia Entertainment and Palace Sports & Entertainment are teaming up, too.

They're combining forces to create the new entertainment business, 313 Presents. 313 Presents will manage concerts and other entertainment events at six venues throughout metro Detroit.

313 Presents will manage events at Little Caesars Arena, DTE Energy Music Theatre, the Fox Theatre, Meadow Brook Amphitheatre, Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill and Comerica Park.

You can get information about shows at all the venues and tickets at their new website, 313Presents.com.

"I think, the simple thing, is that one-stop shopping where you can go there and buy tickets on that website and learn everything you need to know, says Tom Wilson, Olympia Entertainment CEO and President who's currently serving as interim President of 313 Presents.

"The biggest thing is, it's going to mean more shows and more diverse shows. It gives us an opportunity to literally sit with an agent and say, 'Let's look at your entire roster of talent, and let's plan this season for you.' As you create more shows with that agent, then, when, Sting comes out and says he's playing 20 cities - we want to be one of those cities and we have a relationship with that agent that's really deep and profound," he adds.

Wilson says this enterprise expects to put on at least 400 shows a year, and maybe as much as 600 shows a year. He believes that is unprecedented in the United States.

Wilson joined us in studio to tell us more about 313 Presents. You can hear more from him in the video player above.
