Outburst in Kalamazoo courtroom as convicted killer is sentenced

The uncle of a 17-year-old who was shot and killed earlier this year tried to exact revenge on the suspected killer in court.

The man was making a victim impact statement in Kalamazoo County court Monday afternoon. Bruce Embry was convicted in July of killing Temetrion Hegler in January.

Embry was facing the camera as the man read his statement. He address Bruce and told him that Temetrion never 'did anything' to him and 'never disrespected him'.

That's when he lunges at him and tries to attack the shackled man.

Several deputies were able to get in between the two and resume order before he could land a punch. But the man kept fighting as Embry was escorted out, despit three deputies holding the family member down.

That wasn't the end of it. Families from both sides were in court and a woman was shouting as another woman held up a cane, as if she was threatening the shouting woman with it.

In the end, there was no violence and peace was restored.
