Overdosed woman with two kids in backseat saved by Narcan

A woman who overdosed on drugs is recovering in the hospital after paramedics were able to save her life with a dose of Narcan.

The 27-year-old woman was found unresponsive in her pickup truck around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday at a gas station at 7 Mile and Hayes roads. Two young children were also found in the backseat: two girls, aged 2 and 4.

"She probably had like, minutes, before she was going to pass," one of the paramedics who administed aid tells us. "She was down to about two breaths a minute."

The woman is recovering in the hospital in stable condition. It's believed she overdosed on heroin.

It's not clear at this time if she is the mother of the two girls, but we're told she was issued a citation and could be charged with child endangerment. Child Protective Servies aided in getting the children to care after the incident.
