Papa John's Camaro returns to Dream Cruise as thank you to city, police

- The Papa John's Camaro is back again this year at the Woodward Dream Cruise after having been stolen last year.

In August 2015, the Papa John's Camaro was stolen while parked in a trailer in Detroit, but after only one day police found the car parked between two vacant houses.

This year, the owner is bringing it back to say thank you.

"We wanted to thank the City of Detroit and the Detroit Police Department for all of their efforts because they found this car in one day after it was stolen," said Jack Ventimiglia, owner of the Papa John's franchise.

The symbolism of the Camaro coming back for year two is important to the company to show its appreciation to the DPD.

"It wasn't easy for them to be able to find the car that quickly, and in the condition it was in, which was basically unharmed at all, and so we just want to say thank you," Ventimiglia said.

The suspects were eventually caught.

"They ended up breaking up a stolen car ring," Ventimiglia said.
