The Camaro belonging to the owner of Papa John's pizzerias has been recovered after being stolen Saturday night in Detroit.

It was found in the driveway of an abandoned house in the 14400 block of Pierson Street, which is on the city's west side.

The car, which was brought from Kentucky for the Dream Cruise holds a special place in John Schnatter's heart. It was the car Schnatter, or better known as Papa John, sold so he could help his dad who was going through bankruptcy.

Schnatter then used the leftover money to start his first official Papa John's pizzeria, which he ran out of the back of his dad's tavern. What started off as a hometown favorite is now known all across the world.

The car was stolen with its trailer and truck off of E. Jefferson Saturday night. It is a 1972 Camaro Z28, gold in color with black stripes down the middle. The hauler and truck were later found Sunday morning.

It is unclear how the car was found, or who found it. This is a developing story. Stay with FOX 2 for updates.
