Jake is a very good boy but he's had a very hard beginning to his life but at one year old, he's walking.

Jake is a one-year-old patterdale terrier from Missouri but when he was just a puppy, he was stepped on. A pit bull rescue in Missouri saved the pup and just last week he arrived in Michigan so he could learn to walk.

That's where Dr. Lucretia Greear from Woodhaven Animal Hospital in Woodhaven comes in. She does a lot of rescue and shelter work and was hoping to teach Jake how to walk.

But the patterdale terrier's back left leg was just not holding up. His leg had to be amputated and on Wednesday, Jake was put in the four-wheeled chair and took his first upright steps.

You've got to see the adorable clip for yourself - watch in the video above.

The hospital says he's going to need a lot of work to get used to walking on three legs and he also getting hyperbaric oxygen treatments at Oxford recovery center to help with the treatment.
