A pedestrian bridge at the historic Packard Plant has collapsed in Detroit.

The large section came down across E. Grand Blvd at Concord blocking the road. There have been no reports of injuries.

There were workers at the site at the time of the crash but were not there to address the bridge, which colllapsed at about 3:40 p.m.

A security guard said there had been signs that the bridge was not stable the past few days.

"We went in there a couple weeks ago," said Ron Dickerson. "We saw the bricks ... they said there was a crack in the bridge, so we went to block off the street and we looked around and that's when I saw the bridge falling down."

The guard said that they were turning cars around before the bridge collapsed.

Engine 41 from the Detroit Fire Department is at the scene.
