Plymouth Ice Festival to wow spectators for another year

Downtown Plymouth Michigan will be hosting the 34th annual Plymouth Ice Festival on January 8th, 9th and 10th. The Plymouth Ice Festival has a long-standing history of being the largest free ice festival in Michigan and remains dedicated to the art of ice carving.
This year's event will host the annual Collegiate Ice Carving competition presented by Genysis Credit Union. Student carving competitors will compete in one of two carving competitions. Saturday, January 10th will be the individual contest starting at 9 a.m. Competitors will have 3 hours to carve their masterpieces. On Sunday, January 11th ice-carving competitors will take part in the team competition starting at 8 a.m. Teammates will have to work together to build and sculpt their ice carving. Winners will be announced and receive trophies each day at 1 p.m.
Join the crowds who watch the wildly popular Ford Motor Company Dueling Chainsaws on Saturday, January 9th at 7 p.m. Ice carvers are given 15 minutes, one block and their chainsaws to create some of the most amazing ice carvings.
