Police: 14-year-old assaulted on way to school

The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with a sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl on the city's west side Friday.

Police say that around 7:50 a.m. Friday in the area of Burt Rd and Davidson, a lone suspect pulled his pickup truck into a driveway on Burt Road and appeared to be fumbling with keys trying to gain entry into the location.

The suspect then ran up to the victim and started grabbing her, ultimately assaulting her.

The victim was able to get free and run towards an adult who walked with the victim to school.

After the assault, the suspect fled the location driving a newer model whie Dodge pickup truck.

The suspect is described as a black male, mid 30's, approximately 6' tall, weighing 180 pounds with a medium to dark complexion, bushy mustache, plain dark navy baseball cap with plastic snaps and blue jeans.
