Police bust man with 9.5 pounds of pot in car during Lake Orion traffic stop

- A traffic stop of a driver suspected of being under the influence led to a pot bust of 9.5 pounds.

Joshua Dean Olsen was pulled over by Lake Orion police at midnight on Sunday near the 400 block of Broadway (M-24). When the officer turned on his emergency lights, Olsen attempted to pull into a business driveway, missing the entrance and hitting the curb, suffering a tire blow out and damaging his car.

After being pulled over, Olsen, 23, allegedly tried to flee during his sobriety test. Police say he tried to get to the back seat of his car when he was arrested. Inside police found the large amount of marijuana and some illegal precription pills.

The driver, from Orion Township, was arrested for OWPD, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of narcotics. 

Olsen was arraigned Tuesday on one count of a controlled substance, delivery/manufacture marijuana - a four-year felony, one count of a controlled substance and possession, a two-year felony. Bond was set at $5,000 or 10 percent. 

The charge of operating a vehicle with presence of drugs is pending his blood and drug lab analysis.
