RIVER ROUGE, Mich. (WJBK) - A devoted dad missing since Friday.
Micheal Stratford went for a ride on his motorcycle but never made it back home. Police found his bike but there is still no sign of the River Rouge man.
A 3-year-old can't understand why her dad hasn't come home and her grandmother can't explain it.
"She'll stand at the top of the steps and say 'Daddy. He’s not coming down,'" said Carrie Bommarito, Micheal's mother.
Stratford, a single dad to a 3-year-old girl, hasn't been seen since Friday.
"At 10:32 I received a text message, it said 'Is everything okay?'" Bommarito said.
Stratford lives in River Rouge with his mom and daughter - and always keeps to routine.
"There is definitely something suspicious behind this," said Sgt. Dasumo Mitchell, River Rouge police.
When he didn't show up for work, his family knew something was seriously wrong.
His mom doesn't know what to do.
"I paced the halls so much my feet hurt," she said.
So they're doing whatever they can.
"One of his friends came over yesterday and went through his PlayStation game and was able to find the last person he had contact with," she said. "And that's how I found out where he was."
This brought his mom and FOX 2 to a house of that person in Taylor.
No one was home here. But neighbors say the police found his bike in the garage.
Aside from his daughter, his custom motorcycle was his pride and joy and not something he would voluntarily leave behind.
The bike was taken as evidence but his mother didn't stop there. With the help of Boost Mobile and GPS location, she found out his phone is right off the water in downtown Detroit.
Now she and police need some more information to connect the dots and help reunite a dad with his daughter. If you have any information contact River Rouge police at (313) 842-8700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
