Deadly shootout on I-94 between two cars

Detroit and state police are trying to figure out what lead to a deadly shootout between two cars on Interstate-94 Wednesday night. One person was killed and another is in the hospital on life support.

Sources tell FOX 2 the driver of a four-door Chevy was shot in the head and killed, and the front-seat passenger was shot at least eight times. A third passenger was not injured.

The shootout began around 10:30 p.m. at I-94 and Chalmers. It ended at I-94 and Harper. That is where the car crashed into a fence and the shooter kept going westbound on I-94. The interstate was shut down for five hours overnight while polive inevstigated.

No arrests have been made. Police have not released vehicle or suspect descriptions at this time.

Police are asking those who heard or saw the shooting to give them a call to help in the investigation.
