Michigan State Police are investigating a second shooting incident in Inkster Thursday evening.

A second shooting occurred in the 300 block of Amherst Street near Inkster and Avondale just before 9 p.m.  Police are looking for a gray or silver Saturn Ion with three people inside in connection to the incident.

The Ion was last seen on eastbound Avondale; it is unclear what condition the victim is in.

The Amherst Street shooting comes on the heels of a double shooting which left one person dead at about 4:30 p.m. That shooting happened at the corner of Harrison and Somerset with police looking for the two suspects who fled in a red Dodge Challenger.

Two people were inside a minivan when the Challenger drove up and the driver got out. He got into a verbal altercation which escalated with the two people inside the minivan before pulling a gun and firing several shots at close range.

The driver of the minivan died from his injuries and the passenger is in critical condition.

Police have not said the two shootings were related.

FOX 2's Jessica Dupnack will have more on this developing story at 10 and 11 p.m. tonight.
