Police look for man in Bloomfield Twp abduction attempts

- Three incidents within just days at a strip mall in Bloomfield Township, where police say a man is approaching women offering them money then, trying to abduct them.

Police say Thursday afternoon, a 20-year-old woman was parking her car near this Qdoba on Woodward near Square Lake Road, when a man, driving a red van, forced open her door and asked her if she wanted to make $100,000.

When she refused, police say he then tried to pull her from her car. She was able to get away and police say the woman ran into the restaurant getting help from the manager. The man drove off.

After that incident only a few minutes later, police say the man walked back into the Qdoba and tried luring another woman. She refused, then he left in his red van.

That second incident was caught on surveillance as police pointed out the suspect. The woman has not yet come forward.

Since then police say a third woman has reported being approached by the same man. But says she didn't feel threatened.

The suspect is described as a medium complected black man, roughly 6 feet tall, 40 to 50 years old, weighing about 180 to 200 pounds. Victims describe a distinctive mole near one of his eyes.

He has short hair and a thick mustache. Police say the red van has no license plate and no rear windows. Victims tell police they have also seen another person inside.

Now those working in the area tell FOX 2 Friday  they are on high alert, hoping that man is caught before another attempted abduction becomes a successful one.

Bloomfield Township police need your help. They're asking the woman in that Qdoba surveillance video to call them at (248) 433-7755  along with anyone with information on who that man may be.
