Police looking for 12-year-old boy missing since Tuesday

Detroit police is asking for the public's help finding a boy who has been missing since earlier this week.

Police say 12-year-old Curon Hayes hasn't been seen since he was at school on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.

His mother last saw Curon when she left for work that morning at 5:30 a.m. When she came home from work, Curon wasn't there and he didn't come home from school. Police say she thought he was at a friend's.

On Wednesday, though, Curon still didn't come home so his mother called his school, Gompers Elementary-Middle School. The school told her he was at school on Tuesday, but not on Wednesday.

Curon's mother says this is the first time he's been missing.

Curon is 5 feet 5 inches tall, and 90 lbs. He has a short black afro and brown eyes, police say. He was last seen wearing a blue coat, black jacket, red hoodie, red shirt and black pants.

If anyone has seen Curon Hayes or knows of his whereabouts you're asked to call the Detroit Police Sixth Precinct at 313-596-5600 or 313-596-5640.
