DETROIT (WJBK) - Police say they're looking for at least 10 men after multiple unsuccessful smash-and-grabs overnight in Detroit.
Smash-and-grabs were attempted at two locations overnight. The first happened around 3:40 a.m. at a Chase Bank at Gratiot and Warren. Police say two vehicles were used, a dark Tahoe and a '99 Ford Van.
Police say the group tried to take the ATM but couldn't quite get it free. Police say the machine was damaged.
The secound happened just a few minutes later, around 3:45 a.m., at Knights Drugs on Jefferson. The crew custed through the wall but police say nothing was taken. Police say the suspects weren't able to get into the drug cabinet.
Police say later in the morning, a 2004 Tahoe was found burning on Grand Boulevard and Frederick. Police say that particular Tahoe had been reported stolen from the area. Police are investigating if it's connected to the attempted smash-and-grabs.
Dozens of smash-and-grabs have been reported across the city so far this summer.
