Police search for mother of 1 year old found wandering Detroit street on Monday
Detroit Police say they're searching for the mom of a one year old boy who was found wandering a Detroit street earlier this week.
Police said Nicole Smith was supposed to be in a mental health facility at Chicago and Schaeffer and was scheduled to return home earlier this week. They said she never arrived and are now investigating the case as a missing person.
According to police, the woman's 1 1/2 year old boy was found wandering on a west side Detroit street.
Police said the boy was found Monday afternoon and his grandfather picked up after seeing media coverage.
Police said on Monday that Smith lived at a home for troubled women.
Anyone who has seen Smith is asked to call police immediately.
