US Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) visited Livonia Thursday.

Sen. Marco Rubio brings his vision for America to Livonia.

The Republican presidential candidate says President Barack Obama has put America on the wrong path.

Marco Rubio is leading the polls in Michigan, both Republicans and Democrats for the presidency. What is his message to Michigan voters?

"I understand people are frustrated, I really do," Rubio said. "In 2008, they thought they were voting for change. Boy did they get it."

Rubio offered criticism for the Obama administration.  After his speech at the Livonia Victory Center he is asked how a US Senator from Florida would fare better than a Senator from Illinois as in President Obama.

"The difference is the previous person had bad ideas, they don't work," he said. "It's been clear over the last six and half years. Our ideas will work; they are the ideas that made America the greatest country in the world.

"We just need to adapt them to a new economy and if we do we'll have another American century."

Rubio said the time leading up to the election will move quickly.

"In a few months we will begin the process of electing the next president of the United States," he said. "And the great news is that means the end of eight years of incompetence of the Obama Administration."

FOX 2: "You are leading the polls in Michigan, why is your message resonating?"

Rubio: "I don't know, it's our first visit here in a while. Quite frankly polls right now don't matter - we're up in some polls and down in others.

"We're going to continue to work hard and put our message out."

Voters who attended the Rubio event said that they are undecided who they will vote for but were impressed with his message.
