An elderly Pontiac man hires a prostitute but instead of a good time, he found himself face-to-face with a gun.

The corner of Baldwin and Rutgers is a well-known area for prostitution where an elderly man hired a prostitute who he brought to his house.

"That's one of the things you probably shouldn't do," said Oakland County Undersheriff Mike McCabe. "Quite frankly."

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says a 71-year-old man who rides a motorized scooter to get around, met a prostitute at 3 a.m., bringing her to his home on west Rutgers.

"When you do things that are illegal, bad things can happen," McCabe said.

While inside police say the prostitute quickly phoned a friend which she said, was to bring some drugs.

"She must've called somebody unbeknownst to him," McCabe said. "The guy comes in and then robs him."

While holding the 71-year-old at gunpoint, the two suspects then tied the man to a chair. They then stole the man's wallet, cellphone and $4,000 from the man's safe. The two then fled.

"I feel bad for the guy but come on, don't bring a prostitute to your house," said neighbor Randy Casady.

The man broke free and was able to ride over to an area business and call for help. He was not injured. But with this corner a busy one, those living nearby are not surprised.

Police are searching for that prostitute who is only described as a white woman about 5 feet, 4 inches and 120 pounds and her partner in crime only described as a black man. Investigators believe the two have done this before and likely will, again.

"The moral of the story - don't take a prostitute to your house," Casady said.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
