He's a well- known voice of the Detroit Red Wings and he has an important message.

Ken Daniels is lending his voice in the fight against the opioid crisis. Rochester Community Schools announced the launch of a new task force Friday for suicide prevention and opioid addiction prevention.

Daniels continues to spread the message of the Jamie Daniels Foundation. Ken's son Jamie died in 2016 from an opioid related overdose. Since then he had been trying to raise awareness of opioid abuse and just getting families to talk.

"If you see a kid isolated or you think there may be something wrong, don't be scared to talk about it," Ken Daniels said. "We need to talk about it."

"It is something that we need to address and remove the stigma and have a real conversation about it," said Dr. Robert Shaner (Supt. Rochester Community Schools.

"We are raising funds so we can build a long term, safe, sober living facility for those who have gone through detox and need an outpatient, safe living environment."
