Two workers were stuck in a collapsed trench in Chesterfield Township leading to a rescue effort Monday.

Both men have been pulled from the trench, reports FOX 2's Randy Wimbley.

The rescue effort happened at the site between Hall and 21 Mile roads on Edgewater Street. The workers were 10 feet deep building the walls for a basement when the ground gave way.

"We have two individuals trapped below grade about 10 feet deep buried from the waist down," said Police Chief Brad Kersten at the time.

Both men have been hospitalized, their injuries are not known at this time.
