Rochester Hills man arrested for attempted murder; had 145 guns in home

On December 1, Oakland County Sheriff's Deputies were responding to a domestic assault. According to the caller, the man beat his wife and shot her with a small gun. When they arrived, they found 144 more.

John Piotrowski was arrested on Tuesday for attempted murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, and possesion of a firearm while committing a felony.

According to a press release from Oakland County, they were called to the Rocehster Hills home by the man's wife. She said she was talking with her husband in the bedroom when he got up and said he was going to kill her.

She said he grabbed her neck but she was able to get away and call 911.

While on the phone, the sheriff says Piotrowski pointed a gun at her and fired two shots. Both missed and he walked away. She ran outside to wait for deputies.

Piotrowski, 68, was arrested and booked into the Oakland County Jail. As deputies searched the home, they found 87 rifles and 58 handguns. All 145 guns have been removed from the home for safekeeping.

Piotrowski is being held on a $500,000 bond and could face life in prison if convicted.
