Romeo High School coach charged with soliciting sex from students
ROMEO, Mich. (WJBK) - A freshman football coach and hall monitor at Romeo High School is accused of asking students for sex.
Hector Tanner, 25, has been charged with two counts of Using a Computer to Attempt to Commit a Crime, to wit, Criminal Sexual Conduct 3rd degree, a felony; and one count of Accosting Children for Immoral Purposes, a felony.
Tanner, of Romeo, used a computer tablet issued to him by Romeo High School to tweet with two female Romeo High students, one 15 and one 16, authorities say.
According to school officials and police authorities, Tanner asked the students to join him in a three-way sexual encounter. The conversation detailed where and with whom the encounter would take place.
The foster mother of one of the students discovered the Twitter conversation and brought it to Romeo school authorities, who acted swiftly to escort Tanner off of school property.
In the Twitter conversations, Tanner boasts repeatedly of his appeal to the students in the hallways:
"And yea everyday I have girls literally all over me…lol…It's like if I don't [----] one I'm a p[----]..It's craaaaazy I hear my name everywhere….It's literally like not my fault that everyone thinks I'm attractive."
He also urges the girls not to speak to anyone about the matters discussed in the Tweets, for fear of discovery and punishment: "And I honestly just don't want to get canned Or go to jail…:("
Prosecutor Smith applauded the foster mother who found the Twitter conversation and came forward with it.
Tanner has yet to be arraigned on his charges.
