Non-verbal 9-year-old girl with autism found safe in Royal Oak

WEB UPDATE: Royal Oak police say that Monique Woods was found safe Wednesday night.

Police were doing a door to door search in Woodland Garden Apartments when she was seen though a window of an empty apartment. Police forced down the door and found her. Monique was then found inside safe.

A perimeter had been set up by Oakland County Sheriffs and police agencies from the area. 

Royal Oak police wanted to thank the assistance of Berkley, Beverly Hills and Southfield police as well as the Oakland County Sheriff's Office and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.  

Police had issued an endangered missing advisory for her. Woods was last seen at 4:30 p.m. near 14 Mile and Crooks.
