SB Southfield freeway at Warren reopened after serious crash
UPDATE: As of 7:18 p.m. the freeway was reopened following the crash.
An accident caused a total close of the southbound side of the Southfield freeway late Thursday afternoon.
On MDOT traffic cameras a long procession of cars could be seen in the backup with police herding motorists off the freeway onto the service drive.
The accident occurred at about 5 p.m.
The crash has resulted in at least one serious injury according to Lt. Michael Shaw of the Michigan State Police. The accident was not weather related, he added.
Debris was said to be on both sides of the freeway.
