Search continues for 3 suspects in downtown Detroit shooting

An 18-year-old remains in the hospital in stable condition following a shooting earlier this week in downtown Detroit.

Meanwhile the search continues for three suspects. Investigators say they're looking for two men in their 30s and a woman in her 20s, and it appears the suspects were acquainted with the victim.

We know for sure, according to police, it started as a fight just before 5 p.m. Wednesday.  The shooting happened at Adams and Woodward, which is just a couple blocks from Comerica Park.

"We believe that the victim and suspects are acquainted. It was a dispute, over [what] we're not certain, but we're certain we'll bring some closure to the case," Chief James Craig said.

Police say three people approached the victim and then the shooting started. An 18-year-old was shot in the neck.

One man who lives right across from where the shooting happened told us he's been calling police about the intersection for a while.

"All I've asked for is just, you know, patrol the area. I'm not asking for people to be arrested; I'm not asking for people to get written up. Just patrol the area."

The commander for the district reports police have been monitoring the area. Meantime, police interviewed and released two people in the case as they turn their eyes to the most recent situation and details that could help solve it.

"The suspects involved in the shooting were driving a late model Chevy Impala, red in color - a very distinctive color," Craig added.

Police say they have found surveillance video but aren't releasing it just yet.
